A Floor That Fits Your Life

Your floor gets walked on thousands of times a day — by kids, guests, pets, and the ordinary business of living. It sets the tone of a room and, over time, it affects what your home is worth. It's worth getting right, whatever your budget.

FloorCraft Uganda works with homeowners, tenants fitting out a rented place, and landlords upgrading rental units across Kampala and the rest of Uganda. Whether that means hardwood in a master bedroom, budget ceramic tile in a starter home, or seamless microtopping in a small apartment bathroom, we'll give you an honest recommendation for your space and your budget — not just the most expensive option.

No jargon, no pressure, and a clear written price before any work begins.

Bedroom floor in a Kampala home

Bedrooms

Tile, Microtopping, or Hardwood

Ceramic tile is the most affordable option and very common in Ugandan bedrooms. Microtopping gives a smoother, more modern look for a bit more. Hardwood is the step up — warm underfoot, with real long-term character.

Bathroom floor finish in a Uganda home

Bathrooms

Ceramic Tile or Microtopping

Standard ceramic tile is the budget-friendly default for bathrooms. Microtopping costs a bit more but removes grout lines entirely — easier to clean and good for smaller bathrooms where a seamless look helps the room feel bigger.

Living & Dining Rooms

Tile, Polished Concrete, or Hardwood

The room everyone sees first. Tile is affordable and practical. Polished concrete is a low-cost way to get a clean, modern look using your existing slab. Hardwood or terrazzo are the higher-end choices if your budget stretches.

Kitchen floor tiles in a Uganda home

Kitchens

Tile or Epoxy

Oil, water, and heavy foot traffic mean kitchens need a practical surface. Ceramic or porcelain tile is the standard, affordable choice. Epoxy is worth considering for a busy cooking household — tough and easy to wipe clean.

Driveway surface at a Uganda home

Driveways & Compounds

Plain Concrete or Stamped Concrete

A simple, well-finished concrete surface is the most affordable option for a driveway or compound. Stamped concrete costs more but gives you a stone or brick look without the price of actual stone.

Outdoor patio surface at a Uganda home

Patios & Outdoor Areas

Outdoor Tile or Stamped Concrete

Anti-slip outdoor tile is a solid, budget-conscious choice for a patio. Stamped concrete suits larger outdoor entertaining areas and handles Uganda's rains well once properly sealed.

Common Questions

Home Flooring FAQs

Straight answers for homeowners thinking about a flooring project.

How much does it cost to floor a house in Uganda?
It depends entirely on the floor type, the size of the house, and how many rooms you do at once. A single bedroom in budget ceramic tile costs far less than a full house in hardwood. We give a free, written quote room by room, so you can see exactly where your money goes.
Can I floor one room at a time instead of the whole house?
Yes, and many of our clients do exactly this. We are happy to work room by room as your budget allows, rather than requiring a full-house commitment upfront.
Do you do flooring for rental apartments and smaller budgets, or only big houses?
We work on homes of every size and budget, from a single rented room to a large family house. A landlord upgrading one rental unit gets the same attention and honest pricing as a full residential project.
What is the best flooring for a Ugandan home?
It depends on the room. Living rooms and bedrooms suit hardwood, microtopping, or tile. Bathrooms and kitchens need water-resistant options like tile, microtopping, or epoxy. Driveways and outdoor areas usually call for stamped or polished concrete. We recommend based on the room, your taste, and your budget.
How long does it take to floor a typical house in Uganda?
A single room usually takes 1 to 5 days depending on the floor type. A full house typically takes 1 to 3 weeks. We give you an exact, day-by-day schedule in your written quote.
Will I need to move out of my home during installation?
Usually not. We work room by room wherever possible, so you can keep living in the rest of the house. Some floor types need a short curing period before the room can be used again, which we will tell you about upfront.
Do you offer home flooring outside Kampala?
Yes. We regularly work in Wakiso, Entebbe, Mukono, and Jinja, and travel further across Uganda for the right project.
