Adds real property value
Warm underfoot
Worth Knowing
Solid hardwood costs more upfront
Needs to acclimatise to Uganda's humidity before fitting

Marble, glass, or stone chips set in cement or resin — a one-of-a-kind, extremely durable floor. A simple single-colour design is genuinely affordable; a custom multi-colour pattern is the statement choice for lobbies, feature bathrooms, and corporate entrances.

Strengths
Fully custom — no two terrazzo floors are alike
Can last for generations when properly installed
Hygienic, non-porous surface
Simple designs are more affordable than people expect
Worth Knowing
Custom multi-colour designs cost more
Takes longer to install than tile
Needs a solid structural sub-floor

04 Most Affordable

Natural Polished Concrete

We grind and polish the concrete slab you already have — no new material to buy, no tiling, no terrazzo aggregate. Because it uses what's already there, it's typically the most budget-friendly flooring upgrade we offer, and it suits homes just as well as offices and warehouses.

Strengths
Uses your existing slab — nothing new to buy
One of our most affordable services
Very hard-wearing
Stays cool underfoot in Uganda's heat
Worth Knowing
Needs a structurally sound slab to start from
Less colour control than microtopping or tile
Feels harder underfoot than hardwood
Best For
Offices, Warehouses, Modern Homes, Schools
Lifespan
25+ years with occasional re-polishing

05 Versatile & Practical

Tile Flooring

The most versatile option — from budget ceramic to large-format porcelain and designer tiles. Excellent for wet areas, easy to source in Uganda, and when installed correctly (proper substrate prep, the right adhesive, waterproofing under wet-area tiles) it's practical and durable at almost any price point.

Strengths
Widest range of styles and prices
Excellent for wet areas and kitchens
Individual tiles can be replaced if damaged
Easy to source locally
Worth Knowing
Grout lines need regular cleaning
Poor installation is common — worth using a specialist
Feels harder underfoot than hardwood
Best For
Kitchens, Bathrooms, Shops, Outdoor Areas
Lifespan
20–40 years (grout typically refreshed at 10–15 years)

Stamped Concrete

Poured concrete stamped with stone, brick, or timber patterns and coloured to match your design. A strong choice for Uganda's patios, driveways, pool surrounds, and garden paths — it handles tropical rain well and needs little upkeep.

Strengths
Holds up well outdoors in Uganda's climate
Mimics natural stone at a lower cost
Anti-slip finishes available
No weeds growing between joints
Worth Knowing
Needs a fresh concrete pour, not applied over existing floors
Can crack without the right sub-base
Not typically used indoors
Best For
Patios, Driveways, Pool Surrounds, Walkways
Lifespan
20–30 years with periodic resealing

Epoxy Flooring

A thick coating that bonds to concrete and resists oil, chemicals, and heavy traffic. Hugely popular for garages and factories, but just as useful for a home garage or store room. Ranges from a simple single colour through to decorative flake and metallic finishes.

Strengths
Resists oil, chemicals, and stains
Easy to sweep and mop clean
Works over most existing concrete
Anti-slip finishes available
Worth Knowing
Needs proper surface preparation to bond well
Can discolour outdoors under constant sun without the right topcoat
Best For
Garages, Factories, Commercial Kitchens, Showrooms
Lifespan
10–15+ years before recoating

08 Surface Protection

Waterproofing & Coatings

Not a decorative finish on its own, but the system that protects every other floor. Liquid membranes for bathrooms, sheet membranes for rooftops, crystalline systems for concrete — the layer that makes every other flooring investment last.

Strengths
Protects your structural investment
Prevents mould and moisture damage
Essential in Uganda's rainy seasons
A system for almost every scenario, at every budget
Worth Knowing
Not decorative on its own — usually sits under another finish
Benefits from periodic inspection
Best For
Bathrooms, Rooftops, Basements, Terraces
Lifespan
10–20 years depending on system

Common Questions

Choosing a Floor — Questions Answered

The questions people ask us most when they're still deciding what to install.

Natural polished concrete is usually the cheapest option since it uses your existing slab rather than adding new material. Standard ceramic tile is also a budget-friendly choice with a wide range of designs.

Terrazzo and hardwood can both last for decades when properly installed and cared for, with terrazzo in particular capable of lasting well beyond 50 years. Polished concrete and epoxy are also extremely hard-wearing for high-traffic spaces.

It depends on the room, your budget, and how the space gets used. Wet areas need water-resistant options, high-traffic commercial floors need something hard-wearing, and budget plays a big role too. We give a free, honest recommendation once we have seen your space.

Yes, most homes do. A common combination is tile in bathrooms and kitchens, hardwood or microtopping in bedrooms and living rooms, and stamped or polished concrete outdoors. We can install several systems in the same project.

Indoors, terrazzo, tile, polished concrete, and properly sealed microtopping all handle humidity well. Outdoors, stamped concrete with the right sealing and drainage is the most reliable choice for Uganda's rains.
