Common Questions

Flooring Questions — Answered

The most common questions we get from customers in Uganda before they book a floor installation. If your question is not here, call or WhatsApp us and we will answer straight away.

The cost depends on the floor type and the size of the area. Natural polished concrete is the most affordable because we use your existing slab. Tiles and epoxy fall in the middle range. Hardwood and terrazzo cost more but last for decades. FloorCraft Uganda provides a free, itemised written quote after a site visit — so you know exactly what you will pay before any work begins. No surprise bills.

Natural polished concrete is usually the most affordable option because we grind and polish your existing concrete slab — no extra materials needed on top. Basic ceramic tiles and microtopping are also budget-friendly options. Call us and we will tell you which option gives you the best value for your specific space.

Uganda is hot, humid, and has long rainy seasons. For these conditions, polished concrete, epoxy, terrazzo, and porcelain or ceramic tiles are excellent choices — they do not warp with humidity and are very easy to clean. Hardwood floors work well indoors where there is good ventilation. For outdoor areas like patios, compounds, and pool surrounds, stamped concrete and properly waterproofed surfaces are the right choice.

Yes. FloorCraft Uganda works regularly in Entebbe, Wakiso, Mukono, Jinja, Mbarara, Gulu, and other towns across the country. For large commercial or industrial projects, we travel anywhere in Uganda. Just call or WhatsApp us with your location and we will sort out the logistics.

Most single rooms take 2 to 5 days. A full home or apartment takes about 1 to 2 weeks. Commercial and industrial projects vary by size. Before we start any job, we give you a clear day-by-day schedule and we stick to it. We do not start a project we cannot finish on time.

Polished concrete is your existing concrete slab ground down and sealed to a smooth, shiny finish — nothing new is added on top. Epoxy is a thick liquid coating poured onto concrete that hardens into a tough, chemical-resistant surface. Epoxy is best for garages, factories, hospitals, and car parks. Polished concrete is great for offices, warehouses, schools, and modern homes. Both are affordable and low-maintenance.

For most floor types you only need to clear the room being worked on. We work room by room wherever possible so you can still use the rest of your home or office. For epoxy and microtopping, a curing period is needed before foot traffic. We will tell you exactly how many hours to wait — typically 24 to 48 hours for foot traffic.

Yes. All our installations come with a workmanship warranty. If the floor develops a problem that is caused by how we installed it — cracking at joints, peeling coating, uneven or hollow areas — we come back and fix it at no charge. We stand behind every job we do in Uganda.
